Receptionists
Kara Sayers-Wood (Head Receptionist)

Kara came to Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries in August 2004 as a
receptionist, after working as a dental nurse for 7 years. She enjoys all aspects of her
role, especially the client and animal contact. Outside work Kara enjoys
spending time with family and friends, and caring for her rather quirky
tortoise Hattie, her cat Oscar, and her loopy boxer Albie!
Chris Creasey
Chris has lived in West Sussex for the past 13 years. Before joining Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries she ran her own petsitting/dog walking business. She is interested in dog behaviour and has completed a canine massage course. For her, the best part of the job is meeting all the animals (and owners of course). When not at work she enjoys walking her dog Jamie, swimming and reading.
Jacqui Dawes
Jacqui has lived in Henfield since 1987 and has worked at local vets for much of her time here. She joined Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries as receptionist at the Henfield branch in April 1994. Having spent so many years here she knows many of the clients, and more importantly their animals, many of whom become quite special to her.
One of Jacqui’s many interests is caravanning which she shares with her husband and their rescue Labrador, Honey. For a recent birthday her daughter gave her two bantams called Miss Penelope Chive (Chive) and Nutmeg.
Sue Bradford
Sue has been a part-time receptionist at Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries since 1996. She lives in Horsham with her family and a collection of ten pets! She enjoys all aspects of the job especially cuddling the animals.
When not working, Sue enjoys cycling, walking, riding her pony and spending time with her family. In 2005, Sue took part in a charity trek across the Arctic with a team of huskies and given the opportunity would now like to go to the Antarctic.
Pam Carter
Pam joined Hawthorn Vets in September 2010 as a change of direction following 35 years as a civil servant.
When not working she loves caring for and riding her horse, Jas. Pam also enjoys walking, cooking and entertaining
.
Siobhan Mooney
Siobhan has a degree in Animal Science from Plumpton College and joined Hawthorn Vets in August 2011. She has always wanted to work with animals and enjoys the 'hands on' aspect of her work, particularly as she doesn't currently have a pet of her own. You can depend upon your pet being thoroughly spoilt by her on your next visit to the vets!
