A feather in the App
“You spend too much time on that Daddy”…. The immortal words from the mouth of my youngest son. Unfortunately, he wasn’t referring to my heroics on the running machine, my commitment to the times crossword, or my dedication with the hedge-trimmer. He was, of course, commenting on my mobile phone usage. On reflection, it was hard to explain the importance of watching a viral video of people slipping over outside their homes captured via their smart doorbells. I do sometimes thank my lucky stars that my formative years were during the 80s and 90s. Not only did we have Fun House, Knight Rider and The X-Files but we could do all the same stupid things as the “Gen Z’s” of today and there was absolutely no record of it anywhere!
While I do have fond memories of disposable cameras, CDs and filofaxes, there is no denying that mobile phones, and specifically smart phones, are a significant upgrade in functionality and have changed the way many of us go about our day to day lives – generally for the better! For this reason, we’re really excited to have launched the “Hawthorn PetsApp” which is a great way for our clients to interact with us via their mobile phones. The app offers a number of very useful features:
Online booking – we don’t need to open for you to book an appointment – a few taps on your phone and it’s done. You can also amend or change bookings via the app.
Receive notifications for flea and worm treatment and upcoming appointments.
Chat with us! You can message us directly via the app to order food and medications or to ask questions or advice and we’ll reply during our opening hours.
Make payments – if you prefer we can take payments via the app to save time when you are in the practice.
Video calls and Pictures – if you can’t make it to us, then sometimes a video call will suffice!
You
can download the app by scanning the QR code below or clicking the PetsApp icon in the bottom right hand corner
All in all, we hope you’ll agree that it’s a great addition to the way we offer our services. However, if it’s not for you, don’t worry you can still pick up the phone and one of our friendly team will be very happy to help you the “old fashioned way”! I’m now off to watch re-runs of the A-team on VHS for old times’ sake….
