Covid Update 5th January 2021
Covid update 5th January 2021
In light of the lockdown which was announced last night, we have continued to follow the advice from our professional bodies, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and The British Veterinary Association. They have advised that they will not be suggesting that we revert to emergency only work as we did back in March 2020.
We will continue to carry out work that is required to maintain animal health while considering the recommendations from the government to avoid all but essential travel. This means we will maintain the majority of our services, but will be postponing some 'non-essential' and routine appointments until after the lockdown ends. We will continue with all pre booked appointments this week, but will postpone non essential appointments from next week.
Examples of appointments that will be postponed are:
- Vaccinations where it is less than 14 months since the last vaccination. (see our guide on vaccinations during the Covid restrictions here).
- Routine Health Plan checks
- Routine Claw Clips
- Some repeat prescription checks where the pet is stable on the medication.
- Neutering procedures if it is acceptable to do so.
