Scales and Feathers Open Day!

The Hawthorn Scales and Feathers Open Day!

Behind the scenes tours of the practice and reptile experience!

Our "Scales and Feathers" open day on 29th April was very well supported and a good time was had by all!

Vets Annelise Underwood and Meggie Kenaghan who are responsible for seeing "all pets exotic" at the practice were on hand giving free health checks to a wide variety of pets.

We were also very pleased to welcome Jake and Tyla from Guiles Reptiles who set up an excellent and very interesting display at the practice. Chameleons, skinks, snakes and a tarantula were just some of the animals that were available for people to see and handle if they were brave enough!

Guiles also provided lots of information about each species for those who were considering a reptile as a pet, or who were just interested.

There was the opportunity for anyone to come and see what goes on outside the consulting room at our practice. Many people are unaware of all the equipment and facilities that are present, so it was good to be able to explain everything that goes on!

Additionally, there was also a great baking display, courtesy of Gemma Taylor and her brother which went down very well with all who attended!
