We at Hawthorn Veterinary Practice Ltd are committed to protecting your privacy and will only use information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 & subsequent variations thereof.
We collect information about you for these reasons:
To register you and your animal’s details on our practice management system.
To record your animal’s health and treatment history.
To communicate with you for administrative purposes – accounts, services and products.
To notify you of changes to our service.
To help prevent and detect fraud or loss.
With your approval, to send you communications such as, but not limited to reminders, announcements, practice news items, request for customer feedback and relevant special offers.
Opting in/out:
We will not email information about our products, services, events or newsletters unless you have given us your consent and will give you the chance to refuse any email from us in the future.
You may unsubscribe or request that we do not send you any further information by sending us an email requesting that you are removed from future mailings.
Sharing of information:
We may share your details with selected third parties such as business partners, suppliers or subcontractors, or if we have been legitimately asked to provide details for legal or regulatory purposes or as part of legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings.
We will not sell or disclose your personal information to third parties without your prior consent except where detailed above.

Your title and name
Your address
Telephone number(s)
Email address
Your animal’s details
We will never collect sensitive information without your explicit consent and will hold your personal information securely in line with our own policy.
Access to your information:
If you would like to see any information we hold about you please email or write to us with your request and we will provide you with this information promptly. You may inform us if you would like us to amend or delete any part.
Retention of data:
We will keep personal data only for a long as is necessary. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is kept up to date and accurate. Any sensitive data recorded in paper form will be destroyed using a paper shredder before being disposed of.
Data breaches:
Will be reported to ICO and in some cases individuals if – it is likely to result in risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals. Eg it could result in discrimination, damage to reputation, financial loss, loss of confidentiality or any other significant economic or social disadvantage.
