In response to this, we have adapted the way we offer our services to you to make sure we are still serving the community we exist within. 

This page will let you know how we are offering our services as well as giving you information on the virus, and how to take the best care of our pets during this time.

We are very pleased to say that from the 3rd August, we are welcoming clients back into both our practices to accompany their pets for consultations (should you desire to – there is no obligation).  We have installed safety screens on both our reception desks and reconfigured our consulting rooms and processes so that we can conduct consultations at a safe distance of a minimum of 1 metre. While restrictions have been relaxed, there are still some rules which have to be followed in order to limit contact and keep things as safe as possible. Please see the guidelines below:

1.       Any client with symptoms of Covid-19 or who is Covid-19 Positive is not allowed in the building.

2.      Only one client per appointment is allowed in the building.

3.       Clients must wear a face mask at all times when inside the practice. If you are unable to wear a face covering due to exemptions, we will collect your pet from the car park.

4.       In order to limit the number of clients in the building at any one time, you will be asked to wait in your car or outside the door until we are ready to see your pet and we will then invite you into the practice.

5.       In order to maintain a minimum 1m distance, there are designated areas within the consulting rooms or waiting rooms which clients must stay in.

6.       Because pets cannot be held at distance of 1m, pets will be held by a member of staff while any examinations are performed, not by a client.

7.       Clients still have the option of not coming into the practice if you wish – you can wait in the car and we can speak over the phone and collect your pet from the car park.

8.       You will still need to arrange a time to pick up food and meds or for any other visit to the practice – there is not an “open door policy”.

 The changes above mean we can shorten our appointment times and increase the number of appointments we can offer per day. We have made good progress in catching up with booster vaccinations and we are currently contacting owners of pets due vaccinations in early July. We are also taking bookings for all routine procedures such as neutering (including keyhole spays) and dental procedures. If you would like to book your pet in, then please contact us.

 We are very much looking forward to taking some steps back towards normality and if you have had to visit the practice in the past 4 months, we would like to thank you for your understanding for the way we have had to operate.  It has been far from ideal for everyone and we are very grateful for the consideration that has been shown.

Partridge Green is open again!

From Monday 8th June, our practice in Partridge Green will be open again. The practice has never before been shut and so it we are very pleased to open the doors once again.

For the time being, Partridge Green will be open between 8.30am and 5.30pm and we will predominantly be offering routine appointments and procedures such as vaccinations, neutering and dentals as per above.

You will be able to collect food and medications from Partridge Green by pre arranged appointment as we currently do at Henfield.

We’ve introduced a brand NEW VIDEO CONSULTATION service so you can have an appointment with one of the vets at Hawthorn Vets from the comfort of your home.

You can now book a live VIDEO CONSULTATION by mobile phone with one of our fantastic vets.

  • We’ll book a time slot for a 15 min video call and talk you through the simple process, and set up an invitation for a video consultation
  • We’ll send you a link to download our video software to your desktop PC or the app on your phone (we use ZOOM)

⚡What will happen during the video consultation?

  •   We’ll discuss your pet’s condition and if possible make an assessment and advise how to treat it. Medication may be dispensed.
  •  If we deem necessary we may advise that an appointment at the practice is required and we will schedule one.

Home delivery for local pet owners...

Delivery of your pet’s meds and food just
got easier too!

We have worked quickly to find a HOME DELIVERY solution to ensure your best friend is safe and up-to-date on their flea and worm medicines.

The best bit... you don’t need to do anything except call us to order your repeat prescription!

⚡How does it work? (don’t worry it’s really easy)

We'd prefer it if you can contact us by email if possible as our phonelines get very busy. Advise what you would like and how you would like it delivered or collected. We'll then get in touch with you. We're checking email regularly throughout the day are managing many food and medication requests this way.

  • Please give us at least 5 days notice if you need more medication to allow time to order and deliver post your medication.
  • If you live further afield, we will post medications to you and the cost of postage will be added to the cost of the medication. Postage is also FREE if your pet is on the health plan.
  • If possible please order a 3 month supply at one time so that we can limit the number of deliveries and packages.

⚡If you need MEDICINES QUICKLY we’ve thought of that too. 

  • If we have dispensed medications for your pet as a result of a video consultation and they need collecting promptly, we will contact you to schedule a time to collect the medications. We will take payment over the phone at the time of booking and then hand the products to you at the door when you arrive (keeping a socially safe distance of course 😃).
