At Hawthorn vets, unlike many other practices, we provide a mobile vet visiting service in our dedicated veterinary vehicle. This comes in the form of a vet home visit, normally provided by a veterinary surgeon and nurse. Our mobile vet service is available every working day as well as at a discounted rate of only £60 on Wednesdays (see details below). There are many reasons why a home visit may be preferable to
bringing your pet into the practice, not least because it is much less
stressful for pets who are anxious or nervous about coming into the

The service is available to addresses within 12 miles of our Henfield practice - see the map which illustrates the area that we cover.

The Hawthorn Mobile Vet Service
We offer a range of mobile vet services - which are provided by a Veterinary Surgeon and Nurse. Some examples of the services that we offer are listed below:
- Pick up and collection of your pet to or from the sugery*
- General Consultations
- Booster Vaccinations
- Claw Clipping and Anal Gland expression
- Blood Tests
- New Puppy or Kitten checks
- Some behaviour consultations
- Transfer of your pet to PETS emergency service
- Home visits for Euthanasia
Please note that some illnesses or conditions may mean that further treatment or diagnosis is required at the main surgery. We can advise you on the best approach when you contact us.

Discounted Mobile Vet Visit Service
Home visits are normally charged based on distance from the surgery and start from around £120. We also offer a discounted mobile vet visit service with a fee of only £60, normally provided by the friendly and experienced duo of Rebecca and Katie! This means that home visits for routine appointments and procedures are now much more accessible for anyone who would prefer to avoid potential stress for their pet, or who would prefer the convenience of a home visit.

How to book:
- Currently the discounted visit service is only available on Wednesdays.
Visits must be booked by Tuesday 1pm the day before to benefit from the discounted rate.
We will contact you by phone, SMS or Petsapp on the morning of the visit to advise you of the likely arrival time.
We will contact you again as we are leaving for your address to advise you of a more accurate arrival time.
The discounted rate of £60 is only available to addresses within 12 miles of our main practice in Henfield - if you live beyond this distance, please contact us and we can advise you if we are able to come to you and of a proportional discounted rate.
Please note that £60 applies to the visit fee only - additional fees will apply depending on the service which is provided (eg vaccination).
